Do you have a teething toddler?  Have you considered trying amber jewelry?  Baltic Amber has been used in folk medicine for ages.  It is believed that the succinic acid in the oil of the amber is released when in contact with warm skin.  Happy users have reported pain relief just by wearing amber near the point of discomfort.  Inspired by Finn has more information on the benefits of Amber.
With this in mind I bought a necklace for Thing 1 and Thing 2.  Thing 1 is well out of the teething stage but I knew he would want one as soon as Thing 2 received hers.  Thing 2 is a pretty happy baby even while teething so its hard to know if she benefitted from her Amber necklace.  I do know that the necklace was adorable on her and it looked pretty darn good on Thing 1 too.
I chose necklaces from Inspired by Finn because of the great care they put into constructing their jewelry. Each piece of amber is double knotted by hand so even if the necklace might break only one bead can fall off at a time. The clasp is a screw clasp hidden inside the amber.  The clasp is easy to do and undo and is invisible once tightened.  Its best to order a good fitting necklace to avoid the possibility of things catching while being worn.  Inspired by Finn offers some measuring advice to get the best fit.
Hazelwood necklaces are also available.  Hazelwood has been used to treat reflux, eczema and more.  While being a facebook fan of Inspired by Finn I have seen some astonishing before and after pictures of children dealing with psoriasis.  The Hazelwood necklaces are decorated with beautiful untreated gems.  No chemicals of any kind (pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) are used to grow the trees these necklaces are made from. The necklaces are handmade – from the gathering of the wood to the stringing of the beads.  I used one during my third pregnancy and I did have less heartburn than my prior two pregnancies which is a big deal since heartburn is my main complaint of pregnancy.
